Acceptable Use Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy governs what you may and may not do with the imatic.ai Services. It forms part of our Terms of Service, and it applies to you, to everyone in your organisation, and to anyone you give access to. Capitalised terms have the meaning given in the Terms.
Why this policy is strict
Voice AI can reach thousands of people in minutes. Used well that is enormously useful; used badly it is harassment, fraud, or impersonation at scale. The rules below exist so the platform stays usable for everyone and so our telephony providers keep carrying our traffic.
Contents
1. Consent & contact rules
You are responsible for the legality of every call, message, and recording you make with the Services. We supply the tooling; we do not vet your contact lists, consent records, or scripts.
- Obtain the consent applicable law requires before contacting a person, and keep records of it — when, how, and for what purpose it was given.
- Contact people only for the purpose they were told about when they gave their details.
- Honour opt-out requests promptly, across every channel and campaign, and suppress the contact from future lists.
- Respect calling-hour restrictions in the recipient’s jurisdiction and time zone.
- Do not call numbers obtained from scraped, purchased, rented, or otherwise unverified lists.
- Present accurate caller identification. Never spoof a number or misrepresent who is calling.
- Do not repeatedly call someone who has not engaged, or use call patterns designed to pressure or exhaust a recipient.
2. India: DND, DLT & TRAI obligations
For traffic to Indian numbers you must:
- Comply with the Telecom Commercial Communications Customer Preference Regulations and scrub your lists against TRAI’s Do Not Disturb registry before dialling.
- Where you send commercial communications, complete DLT registration of your entity, sender headers, and templates, and use only registered content.
- Respect the preference categories subscribers have set, and the permitted time windows for promotional communication.
- Keep evidence of consent for any promotional contact to a DND-registered number.
We may require proof of DLT registration or consent records before enabling or continuing high-volume outbound calling.
3. Calling other countries
Telecommunications rules are local. Before calling into any jurisdiction, satisfy yourself that you comply with its law — including, for the United States, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and state law, the National Do Not Call Registry, and rules on artificial or prerecorded voice messages; and, in the EU and UK, the ePrivacy rules and national preference services. Where a jurisdiction requires prior express written consent for automated or prerecorded calls, you must hold it.
4. Disclosure & transparency
- Where the law requires it, your agent must tell the person they are speaking with an automated system, clearly and early in the call.
- Where recording requires notice or consent — including all-party-consent jurisdictions — your agent must say so before recording, and honour a refusal.
- Identify the organisation on whose behalf the call is made.
- Give the person a straightforward way to opt out or to reach a human.
- Do not design an agent to deny being an automated system when asked directly.
5. Voice cloning & impersonation
You may not use the Services to:
- Clone, imitate, or synthesise the voice of a real person without their documented, informed consent.
- Impersonate any individual, business, brand, or government body, or imply an affiliation or endorsement you do not have.
- Generate audio designed to deceive someone into believing a specific real person said something they did not.
- Use a synthetic voice to defeat voice-based authentication or identity verification.
6. Prohibited uses
You may not use the Services for, or in connection with:
- Fraud, scams, phishing, vishing, or any attempt to obtain money, credentials, one-time passcodes, or financial details deceptively.
- Harassment, threats, intimidation, stalking, hate speech, or content inciting violence or self-harm.
- Unlawful debt collection, or collection practices that misrepresent consequences or a caller’s authority.
- Distribution of malware, or attempts to compromise any system or account.
- Child sexual abuse material, or any sexual content involving minors — we report this to the authorities without notice.
- Unlawful gambling, unregistered securities or investment solicitation, or promotion of illegal drugs, weapons, or counterfeits.
- Political robocalls or election-related communications where prohibited, and any disinformation intended to interfere with an election or census.
- Circumventing another platform’s security, rate limits, or terms.
- Bulk unsolicited communication of any kind — spam, by voice or otherwise.
7. Restricted & high-risk uses
Some uses are permitted only with appropriate safeguards, and you must have human review in place before any consequential action is taken. Do not rely on an AI Output alone to:
- Give medical, legal, or financial advice, or make a diagnosis.
- Decide eligibility for credit, insurance, housing, employment, or education.
- Handle emergencies. The Services are not an emergency service and must never be presented as a route to emergency assistance.
- Take an irreversible action affecting a person’s money, rights, or safety.
If you operate in a regulated sector, you remain responsible for your own regulatory obligations, including any requirement to record, retain, or supervise communications.
8. Technical restrictions
- Do not probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Services without our prior written permission, or breach any security or authentication measure.
- Do not reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code or model weights, except where that restriction is prohibited by law.
- Do not circumvent rate limits, quotas, or usage metering, or share credentials to do so.
- Do not use the Services to build a competing product, or to train a competing model.
- Do not resell or sublicense the Services except as expressly permitted in writing.
- Do not run automated traffic that degrades the Services for other customers.
9. Data you may not upload
Do not put data into the Services that you lack the rights or consents to process. Unless we have agreed otherwise in writing, do not submit payment card numbers subject to PCI-DSS, government identity numbers you have no lawful reason to hold, protected health information, or special-category personal data. Where a conversation may surface such information incidentally, use the redaction controls described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Reporting abuse
If you have received a call you believe was made through our platform in breach of this policy, or you want a number suppressed, write to hello@imatic.ai with the subject line “Abuse report”. Include the number called, the number that called you, and the approximate date and time. We investigate every report, acknowledge within 72 hours, and act on confirmed abuse. You do not need an imatic.ai account to report.
11. Enforcement
Where we reasonably believe this policy has been breached we may, depending on severity: ask you to explain or remediate; throttle or restrict a capability; suspend affected campaigns or numbers; suspend the account; or terminate it. Where the harm is ongoing or severe — fraud, threats, or content involving minors — we act immediately and without prior notice, and we may report it to law enforcement or to the relevant telecommunications regulator.
Except where immediate action is needed, we aim to give you notice and a chance to fix the problem first. We may also act where a telephony provider, regulator, or court requires it. Fees are not refunded for a period during which an account was suspended or terminated for breach — see our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
